Obsidian is my new Obsession

There’s a Free Program out there called “Obsidian.” Or at least you can use it for Personal Uses, for free.

This thing is like a giant corkboard that you make sticky notes and you can see your entire project at a distance. It’s also a fairly easy program to learn. Just read. If all else fails and you wanna get fancy look up some YouTube videos.

But anyways, the point being you can use both Images AND text “notes” to create a whole board to just move things around as you like and keep your thoughts in order.

Currently I’m using it for my Graphic Novel. I’ve spent the better part of a half a day gathering the smallest amount of info just to get the story and images I still need to create to keep the story and information ready to flow publicly. I’d like it to make sense and not be information dumps…which this program pretty much cater to. :)

Those that know me know that sometimes I just need to dump my brain of information I’m holding onto just so I can let it go and clean out the files like a computer.

From these examples you can see there’s the ability to zoom in and out. I can color code particular parts of the project and keep everything straight. It’s the neatest tool I’ve found recently and I just thought I’d mention it in case anyone else is curious!

SO many of my community have been asking Writing questions lately and while I’m no professional author, I have been writing short stories since 2006. I wrote with other people until 2017 where I retired my services to create my OWN novel. I’ve had so many ups and downs with it and trying to balance it with my life, but as it’s becoming easier and more up front in my project brain, I’m happy to share some of the things I’ve found that have been a major help. This program is literally my new obsession.

You’re welcome. :)
