The first thing I’d like to point out is that we’re using the Calendar again because there’s always an Event going on. Please keep up with it here on my website. This includes frequent Store changes and updates.
After Vacation
Sorry for the lack of Blogs lately! For one. It’s been a wild few months. But I feel it’s finally time to get a good one in! Here we go.
I’ve been extremely tired and had to deal with an injured shoulder once again. That’s probably from carrying a heavy bag around and camera for almost a month. PSH. Go figure. I’m behind on projects again as I suspected I would when Mom asked me to come and visit her. Which sucks. But I really did need the breather and time to spend with her.
That being said PATREON will no longer have new selections past October. I’m using the rest of the year to catch up on older pieces as well as Commissions I’ve owed this last year.
New situation! Well, there was a bear incident, so I’m sure some of you have heard. So let me clarify! I had a run in with two adolescent bears in two different instances. One was about 4ft tall on all fours, and the other about 2ft on all fours. Each time they were about 30 feet or so from me and non-aggressive. SO we bought some bear deterrents and haven’t seen them since. But make no mistake the guns are loaded. I’m fine. Dad came home early and has been making oodles of noise so it’s likely they’ve moved on. If not we’ll deal with it.
Power situation. Before I left for vacation Dad bought some items to help with that. Haven’t been able to install them until NOW but here’s how it looks.
We have a new Charge Controller and Charger installed. Dad also bought two more lithium batteries we’re going to pick up literally tomorrow (from my perspective.) So that’s being handled all over the place as usual. But still crossing my fingers.
Now, for the grieving Plant Mom that I am. I took my babies with me on vacation…but Mold eventually seeped into them and ate them alive. So I threw them away. *Sad Face* now I have two baby Spider Plants from Mom’s Garden. So far they are doing well! But I seriously need to find a place to plant them cause they are just chilling in water…in my pots.
So that’s how all of that went! Let’s move onto other major updates!
Nana and Vel Projects
We’re going to make Dino Plushies!! We’ve decided on a T-Rex, and a Triceratops. To the right are the colors we were able to get from the fabric store. Unfortunately they didn’t have much fabric left that was colorful and cute, but I decided on a grey (bottom piece) main body for our dinos, and the dark blue (middle piece) for the bones and claws, and lastly the slate blue (top piece) for the underbellies.
It’s gonna be a long-term project that won’t start until Nana gets her craft room all made up. She’s currently redoing it. That may take a while.
The pages we printed for these dino patterns were well over 200.
Aside from that my Great-Aunt’s sister donated a lot of Office Supplies while my Dad was working down south. So he brought them up to me and now I have space and binders to store all these damn patterns now. Thanks Jola!
Painting Videos
This has been a serious plan in production since 2018. Don’t think this is new. :p
I’ve been trying to find a way to make Acrylic Painting videos for YouTube that I’d like to work on and make a little series. Now that the moving has happened and I’m in a permeant home for the first time since 2014, I can do that. Dad is helping me set up a studio space in his Workshop so I can have a corner to Paint.
Ideally I’ve always wanted to do various types of videos. They are not just a Tutorial, but a Paint With Me sort of situation where anyone can use the videos to create with me. So that means Beginner videos and Intermediate Videos. I’m not sure on the Advanced, so don’t expect to see those Professional type videos until I feel comfortable going over all that stuff. In my opinion Advanced would need to include the business side of things as well as other important details. Things I’m not comfortable discussing at length. I just want short, easy videos for people who want to have fun.
I’m going to keep working on personal painting projects too. Nobody panic. But in the events coming up it’d be easier to just record them and keep that information on hand so that I can use it to help others.
Erion 2023
I know. We’ve been trying. You’ve been waiting. Patrons and Beta-Readers have been dying to see more. It’s time. I’m going to use my Patreon Time to work on Erion pieces and get some work out for you guys to see more of my world. I wanted to make new and fun creations with my Patrons, but I have been holding onto this for a long time.
For anyone unsure what’s going on, ERION is my Graphic Novel I’ve been working on since 2012. I used to write with a bunch of people on the internet. We called it “role-play” like RPG (Role Playing Game) except we weren’t gaming. We were writing as I write this blog. It used to be fun! Until people’s replies became stagnant. ONE person continued to write with me even as I announced my official retirement from the community in 2017. Most of you know him on Twitch as ShadowDragon. Shadow has supported me since the beginning when I decided I needed to work on my ART if I was ever going to make a Graphic Novel. Not just a Novel.
I’ve even divulged many details of my world to Patrons over the years. I’ve been teasing you with it and I’m sure everyone is just dying to learn more. I couldn’t do much last year due to my immediate and chaotically major move. So I’d like to finally spend time working on it as promised.
Far Future
I’ve thought it over.
And I’d like an “In-Between” house in the major city closest to us. Preferably close to my Grandmother. And for several reasons.
Deliveries are just difficult enough as it is having my family members accept them. I’d like to just have a house where I can go spend a weekend or whenever I need to waiting for those things.
By doing so I can also spend time STREAMING!
I also want to have a small studio where I can teach painting in person. That could be fun.
And it would elevate any lingering dread that Dad or I feel when we’re always staying with Family. We wouldn’t be bothering anyone. Have privacy for bed and bath. PLUS Dad could use the Garage for tool storage so he doesn’t have to drive 50 miles to our mountain home for things.
All in all it’s a great overall idea to have. But SUPER SUPER future. Cause who has the money for a house? HA! Nobody.
