September ‘25

I started September with a nice long visit with Grandma.

We went shopping, watched movies, and I helped her around the house fixing things.

All around we had a great time and she spoiled my dog senseless.

By the time we had to go home my Jeep was packed.

I had to unpack and find places for everything we purchased. Let’s just say there’s been a lot of cleaning!

New Gouache Palette - Tested & Approved

Won’t get too personal into the logistics of things, but you know when there are those days where people press your “DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON EVER” kinda day?

It’s definitely been pressed by too many people. All in the same day. It’s like they just sense it’s time to make you want to pull your hair out.

So while I’m busy trying to find my zen zone, I’m finding that I’m enjoying my solitude WAY TOO MUCH. Plus I have so many books to read it’s making me giddy as hell to be alone with my thoughts.

Just another reminder that we all have a social battery and if you don’t charge the battery, you may end up feeling more drained than usual.

I’ve also taken some time to start preparing my schedule for next year. I definitely think the quarterly schedule is working for me, but I have it on a new white board so I can see my year at a glance. It’s nice to be able to plan and prep but also move things around as necessary. I want to think less, and do more. So far it’s working for me!

Prepping for one more road trip next month, and then I’ll be all push towards the end of the year finishing projects I haven’t completed yet. Although I am taking so much longer to recover from my little fainting episode that I’d like, I have to admit I’m surprised to see that I’ve bounced back quite well. Although my head still hurts some days, I have a little more stamina and energy to push my October projects a little ahead of time. I finished an entire illustration in 8 hours where it may normally take double the time. AND I’m already nearly done with the next sketch which doesn’t need to be done for another week. I’m not sure where this spark of energy came from but I’m using it to put me ahead of schedule.

George being despicable at Grandma’s

As per usual after such a perfect vacation it was time to make mistakes.

I came home and had bad foods in quantities I KNEW were not great for my body.

Result, I fainted and found myself in my tub. Which apparently is made of pressed steel as Dad informed me.

Good news, nothing broke skin and I was fine. Bad news, I still had a concussion. In fact the worst one I’ve ever had.

So time has been taken away from me specifically for healing! And Mom to the rescue taking me grocery shopping and mail gathering since I cannot yet drive.

I did spend extra time with my books though.
I even finished the last book in my novel series in three days.

Final book in the Series
